My name is Laurie and I live in Boston, MA. Growing up I loved to help my mom cook, especially for the holidays. Since my mom was always the primary chef in the family, I never really got to cook for anyone. But now that I have moved out and am a married woman, I had to finally cook for myself. I discovered that not only do I love to cook, but I am actually really good at it. It is such a thrill to have people enjoy my cooking. For family parties and holidays I love to make yummy cookies and mouthwatering stuffed mushrooms. I make a great peach pie that everyone loves plus I love to use recipes that family members have passed down to me like my Aunt Ruthie's Marshmallow pudding! I would like to share all the recipes that I have from my healthy BBQ shredded chicken, my veggie stuffed peppers and of course my peach pie. I am looking forward to making friends and sharing recipes. Kitchen items I can not live without: 1) A good paring knife: I love a sharp paring knife to cut fat off meat and slit meat for stuffing 2) A food scale: I am always using my food scale to make sure I stick with portion control and to make sure I have the correct amount of meat for cooking. 3) Paper plates and bowls: Dealing with sticky sauces and raw meat, all I have to do is throw them away without having to wash them. 4) Plastic bags and wrap: I pack everything in a plastic bag (leftover frozen veggies, coconut, chocolate chips, etc) I also used them to season meat by tossing in the bag some seasoning and raw meat and just shaking it up.
