I am a single mother of a toddler. I have a BA in English and an MSW in Health, Mental Health, and Disability. I have been cooking and baking since I could unwrap a package of cream cheese (my Mom used to sell cheesecake to local dinner clubs and restaurants. I grew up eating food my mother prepared from scratch. Our meals were often eclectic: Ants Creeping in the Trees (a Chinese dish w/o ants), Mah Pose Bean Curd, Spinach Lasagna, Taco Salad, Burritos, Kasha, homemade yogurt, homemade cheese, and lots of other great stuff. Now, I have a family full of vegans and meat eaters. I tend to shy away from meat in my own diet, but that is only b/c I don't have a taste for it. I love to manipulate recipes and try to maximize nutrition in everything I make without compromising taste, texture, or quality. For years my favorite recipes have come from Bon Appetite, but now I am a die-hard Recipezaar fan. I love web2.0 and you can check out my extensive links to everything I find interesting at the website below. http://del.icio.us/LightLisha
