I enjoy cooking for people. I feel I've done my job when everyone raves about the food and they don't realize everything I served was low fat and healthy. My pet peeve on this site? People that review a recipe, substitute for this and alter for that, and then rate it poorly. Example: I liked this recipe but I was expecting more. I followed it exactly, although I cooked it on the stove and not in the crockpot. I needed to add a touch of extra water. I found it needed a lot more cayenne than the 1/2 tsp. called for. It didn't have much of an "Indian" flavor and could have used more spices in the spice paste in general. It was also a bit too tomato-ey for my taste. I served it with naan. They changed the cooking method, missed that the author suggested using more cayenne, doesn't realize this is originally a Portuguese dish, NOT Indian, said it was "a bit too tomato-ey" for their impeccable pallet, and then served it with a bread totally unrelated to the suggestions of the original chef. And, while every other reviewer gave this recipe 5 STARS and raved about it, THIS reviewer had the audacity to give it 3 stars. So that is my pet peeve.
