I spent a lot of time with my grandmother as a child and she was the one who taught me to cook. She wasn't a fancy cook, but everything that came out of her kitchen was delicious. When I left home, she gave me a huge recipe box filled with her favorite recipes, and over the years I've added new favorites to it. My "epicurean" roots are comfort food Midwestern fare, and I find myself always going back to the familiar, but I love to try new things. I work as a network analyst and wish I had more free time to spend in the kitchen.
