I grew up in a hippie home during the 70's that had no white sugar, white flour or white rice allowed. So the recent whole grain/whole foods movement hasn't changed much about how I approach food but now I'm looking for a happy medium between the highly processed high starch diet of our modern convenience centered culture and the nuts berries and tofu I grew up around so I can raise my own kids with sound nutritional information but without the deprivation I felt when it seemed like everyone else ate Sugar Pops and Fruit Loops for breakfast except me . I'm interested in baked goods that are both healthy and tasty. I think artifical flavors, colors and preservatives are hazzards of our modern lifestyles that should be banished in the name of better health and higher quality food for everyone who needs to eat.
