I am attempting a healthier lifestyle now that I am feeding a little one (my daughter Sophie age 1 1/2). So since January 2005, we've been off sugar (only honey, molasses, brown rice syrup, etc), and no more refined white flour, whole wheat pastry flour is my new best friend! I haven't quite convinced my husband yet, even though he grew up with health-hut parents, he still loves his doughnuts:) It's amazing what a few simple changes can do. I no longer get the sugar highs (then lows!), and I've lost weight too. There are so many healthier substitutes out there, and they aren't any more expensive then the regualr products (most of them anyway). Even Walmart carries whole wheat pastas, flour and brown rice, and many other things I was buying in high-cost organic stores. So with a little perseverance and God's help, we are going to be a family that eats right! (Thanks to many of you out there with the great recipes!)
