I started cooking about 8 years ago when I moved to New York from Louisiana and wanted to recreated the dishes that I missed. I quickly perfected my father's gumbo and a delicious jambalaya recipe along with other Cajun favorites. But you can't eat like this everyday, and so I've added many weeknight staples to my repertoire: pasta mains, veggie-based dishes, and recipes that make use of our grill, slow cooker, and dutch oven. I'm always up for a culinary challenge and love to experiment with new recipes. I've also learned that you can make a lot of friends with a double layer chocolate cake.
