My grandmother was the most incrediable cook, she passed it on to my mother, who passed it on to me who had a son passed it on to him - he is now chef. Holidays and special occassions the family joke is where our score cards and who the challenger this match. I am a controller for a large company and lately lunch-supper is usually some junk food in a brown bag which is starting to show on the waste line big time. So I have made the time again for my cooking. The trainer I have gone to for years said you can't eat gourmet (sauces beef, pork)and expect not to gain weight - well I had her over for dinner an proved that sauces etc can be part of you diet made fresh without all the preservatives and added fat of the bottle and the portions are the trick. she now believes that "Yes" you can eat all the goodies not just fish, shrimp, and poultry with a salad - and a starch. There is a wonderful world out there of herbs and spices that can be added to make food taste without calories and fats. But the next step is simply making time for the 45 minute cardivascular exercise we all need to do daily.
