Hi there! I am a very happy wife, mom to 2 teen boys and daughter. I didn’t start out in life as a great cook! It wasn’t until after I got married and had our first son, 16 years ago. I could boil water and toast bread, but that was pretty much the extent! My husband is a great cook and gave me inspiration to get in the kitchen and see what I could do! I bought a Junior League cookbook from a Louisiana chapter, checked out the recipes and winged it! My grandma, who was a fantastic cook, pretty much threw all her recipes together with no measuring or much direction, so I thought I would try that route. To my surprise I could cook! It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen. We even had a lunchtime café for awhile where I did the majority of the cooking (we unfortunately had to close due to family obligations). This inspired my oldest son, whose career choice is to be a chef and one day have a family restaurant again. He makes the best, from scratch Alfredo sauce ever! So, cooking is a hobby, therapy, togetherness and a happy part of life. I am so happy to have stumbled over Recipezaar because it is fun (actually addicting!), there are so many inspiring cooks to learn from, with tons of wonderful recipes and great info to share out there! Happy cooking! ;)
