Southern cook who loves experimenting with international cuisine. Love asian and italian. Dabble in Thai. But I also love the wonderful southern soul food that I grew up with. What I dont like is when southern chefs try to "glam" up old southern standards. I think these foods stand on their own and need nothing to make them "acceptable" or "cool". I also have a 13 year old who is allergic to all milk/dairy (not intolerant, allergic) and I have gotten pretty good at converting recipes to milk-free and love to help with that as well! I am married with three kids, ages 13, 10 and 8. We live in Birmingham, Alabama. We enjoy travel, although most of our travel has been limited to the US. We would love to do some foreign travel someday. My big dream trip would be to England or Australia. I enjoy photography (total amateur), painting (almost total amateur), reading and genealogy (not an amateur). Love to email with cooks from other countries to trade tips and recipes.
