I was wandering through the Food Network website and found this recipe in a Rachael Ray episode. It sounded really good and I thought I could tweek it a bit to make it a bit more diet friendly. BLT stands for bacon, leeks and tomatoes.
This desert was a BIG HIT at a recent barbque we attended. It was so good, I had to have the recipe and want to share it with you. It is really decadent and very rich....not for the faint of heart! (I am going to try to lighten it up a bit with sugar free puddings and fat free milk and whipped topping)
I found this recipe in the first issue of Cooking Light and it really is great. Adding the egg white is a brilliant idea! Holds together very well. I am diabetic so I love the reduced sugar and reduced fat content.
I had this marvelous cranberry sauce about 5 years ago at a friends house. Since I have Diabetes, I substituted Splenda for an equal amount of sugar...you could switch back if you like. I love this recipe and make it every year at Thanksgiving. It's best if you make it several days ahead to allow the flavors to blend. It's a step above the "norm".
