I have had several kinds of raw oatmeal, but this one is my favorite. My children love this recipe as well. What a great way to start our morning than with a nutrient packed food. Feel free to add more or less cinnamon based on your taste.
I needed an icing to use to make my daughters castle cake. While in Farmer Jack, the woman at the register ahead of me talked about how she decorates cakes. So I took that as my opportunity to ask her what recipe she uses for icing and this is what she gave me. I got lots of raving reviews. This hardens up like the cakes in meijer, etc.... and it's not too sweet.
I had Whole Foods Banana Nut Muffin and it was amazing! I always hoped I would find a recipe that tasted similar. I altered a recipe today drastically and was very pleased at how close I got to it. Enjoy!
In an attempt to find some kind of "goodie" I could eat, I meshed a few recipes I found online together and came up with this one. Be forewarned, this is not a sweet cookie. For the oil I used coconut oil.
I've had some health issues recently which require me to eat more protein. One thing to note, make sure to get a natural whey protein powder. I recommend plain flavored or vanilla flavored. I store these in the fridge till ready to eat. One thing to note is that the protein powder is not calculated below. Add 5 more grams of protein per bar totaling 10 grams. You can add more powder if you wish but the overall taste and texture will change. I used Jillian Michaels whey protein powder.
Maggie from Smashed Peas and Carrots had a lovely recipe listed. To suit my families needs I changed things up a bit. Depending on the protein powder you use, your protein grams will be different. With my protein powder, add a total of about 50 grams of protein.
I was tired of purchasing protein bars in the store that had way too many ingredients in them. That and they didn't taste good. I whipped up this batch of protein bars and fell in love. I hope you like them as much as I do. Make sure to refrigerate them. Add more oats if needed and use any liquid or dry sweetener to taste. Add more or less as desired. With my protein powder, I get 12 grams of protein out of each bar.
I got this recipe from Edilble Existance http://www.edibleexistence.com/ The only thing I didn't do was top the cookies with real sugar. These cookies are healthy and very tasty. I keep mine refrigerated as they seem a bit more fragile than other cookies.
