This recipe has been in my family since about 1930.. Originally started by my Great Grandmother and passed down through my family over the years.. While it may resemble Hamburger Helper, its been around a lot longer than that and is much better tasting.. I hope you enjoy it..
Not all that far from many others.. A bit more of the clean citrus taste and a little more tang from the hot sauce and white pepper. I'm not too much of a fan of cilantro, but the dried cilantro leaves work well here without the overpowering taste from the fresh.. Great with Tostitio scoops..
A Salisbury Steak recipe thats a bit out of the ordinary.. The horseradish gives it a nice tang, and the mushrooms also add to the nice taste. Serve with boiled noodles or mashed potatoes and a veggie of choice..
I hope its enjoyed here..
A great tasting beef stew in minutes rather than hours. I wanted beef stew one night for dinner but didn't have time to do it in my slow cooker, so I modified the recipe for my pressure cooker and it was ready in 30 minutes and turned out better than in the slow cooker..
The basic recipe for this was originally posted in a Mid-Western town cookbook found at a antique show. It's been heavily modified since then.. I've served it for years this way.. I hope its enjoyed here.
While I don't consider this an everyday meal, it's nice to have on a Saturday night with a good bottle of wine and good friends.. I usually serve this with twice baked potatoes and a Ceaser salad.
Tip.. Have all the prep work and ingredients ready before starting steaks
Most (legal) conch are found frozen at your fish monger. I use about a pound of conch and supplement it with a can of minced clams. If you can't get conch, use all clams and turn it into clam chowder. That works too.
