Chicken Tortilla Soup (Similar to Houston's)
    Handle

I have adapted this recipe from another that was posted on Zaar by Eddie Shipman, Tortilla Soup II #4627. I am really doing this for my own reference since I had so many questions about ingredients and the directions. The original recipe said that it was like Houston's Tortilla Soup. My parents, who are Houston's regulars, said it was very close to the original.

    Recipe #112978

    Select
    Cheesy Chicken Crunchers
    Handle

This recipe was posted in The Winston-Salem Journal. It comes form Chef John Ashton of Orlando, courtesy of the Southeast United Dairy Industry Assoc.

    Recipe #110504

    Select
    Fudge Spoon Pie
    Handle

This dessert is fast, easy and chocolatey. I got it from Southern Living's Easy Weeknight Favorites. It's great with scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's kind of like a brownie that hasn't been cooked all the way, so it's best to scoop this out into a bowl.

    Recipe #95840

    Select
    Raspberry Ice Cream
    Handle

I got this from Ben & Jerry's ice cream cookbook. I haven't tried it yet, but every recipe I have had has been wonderful!

    Recipe #94324

    Select
    Spinach and Beans Au Gratin
    Handle

A yummy vegetarian dish my MIL made for us one night. My hubby enjoyed this immensely and asked for the recipe. She got it from The Outer Banks the Bountiful cookbook. The recipe claims to be enough for 6 side servings, but my MIL says that it is enough for 2 to share for a main meal. She also says that she has not had any success doubling this recipe.

    Recipe #94230

    Select
    Peach Ice Cream
    Handle

I got this recipe from Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream book. It is the reason I own an ice cream maker. Every year we go to Gaffney, SC and pick up a huge basket of peaches. This is the perfect way to use some of them. The cooking time listed includes time to let the peaches sit in the fridge.

    Recipe #94217

    Select
    Yin & Yang
    Handle

This is a treat that my dad and I have shared for years. It is perfectly balanced salty and sweet and ooohh so easy.

    Recipe #86338

    Select
    WW Cheese Crisps
    Handle

I got this from a WW cookbook. 1 Crisp is 1 pt.

    Recipe #86157

    Select
    Classic Brownies
    Handle

This is a recipe from Cook's Illustrated. These are the "perfect" brownies according to America's Test Kitchen. I haven't tried this recipe yet, so I am guessing on the cook and prep times.

    Recipe #85821

    Select
    Yeast Waffles
    Handle

I got this recipe from Cook's Illustrated. I haven't tried it yet - but it looks yummy. Since I haven't made this recipe yet, I am guessing on the cook and prep time.

    Recipe #85820

    Select
    Meatloaf
    Handle

This is my grandmother's recipe for meatloaf. It's the only kind of meatloaf I will eat. I love to make meatloaf sandwiches with it the next day - they are even good cold.

    Recipe #85815

    Select
    WW "Ice Cream" Sandwiches
    Handle

I got this recipe from my WW meeting leader. I have not tried this yet. 1 Sandwich is 2.5 pts. If you use Lite cool whip then it is 3 points.

    Recipe #85522

    Select
    Weight Watchers' Candy

I got this from my WW meeting leader. I have not made this yet, but each piece = 1 pt.

    Recipe #85520

    Recipe #85507

    Select
    Royal Icing
    Handle

One of the parents in my class brought in some sugar cookies topped with this icing. It was delicious! The recipe came from a book called Cookie Dough Fun. I just made this recipe myself, and I had to add a 2 tablespoons of milk to it - the icing was very stiff and it hardens quickly. The taste is fantastic though and it looked really pretty on the cookie.

    Recipe #84538

    Select
    Lemon Bars
    Handle

This recipe came from one of the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks. It is very easy and the taste is fantastic!

    Recipe #83613

    Select
Spinach Artichoke Dip (like Houston' s)
    Handle

I found this recipe online at Robbie's Recipe collection. She later changed the recipe she had listed, but I like this version much better.

    Recipe #83611

    Select
    Hot Baked Cinnamon Apples
    Handle

These cinnamon apples taste like a cobbler or pie without the crust. I was looking for a recipe for Cinnamon apples and all I could find were recipes for baking the whole apple - not what I wanted. After much searching I finally came across this recipe - I unfortunately cannot remember the site. It can easily be reduced to 2 or 3 apples, just watch it as it cooks. We serve this over ice cream and it is delicious. It can also be used on pancakes, waffles, or all by itself.

    Recipe #77666

    Select
    Pumpkin Fluff
    Handle

I got this recipe from Weight Watchers. 2 cups of Fluff = 2 pts. Cook time is Chill time.

    Recipe #76950

    Select
    Chili con Carne
    Handle

This recipe is based on Emeril's Chili con Carne recipe. It is my most favorite chili recipe so I thought I would share. The best thing about this recipe is that you don't use beans, but if you must have them, they can easily be added.
