This a very simple recipe my Wife came up with about 30 years ago. We were both avid outdoor folks. Fishing, Hunting, Camping. The medical problems started. I still hunt and fish when possible. Everyone we ever served this to polished the bowl and went looking for the pot. ENJOY You can use any meat but it was originally made for Venison.
Simplicity is the key point here. When you run out of Venison let your mind wander. I have always been the Camp Cook with our crowd and this is a must. Simple and very satisfying. You might even catagorize it as comfort food. Don't know where it came from except that my Dad showed me back about 1940.
This recipe has been in my family as far as I know since 1900. The year my Grandmother was married. All the ingredients back then had no chemicals mixed in. BUT, it is still my #1 favorite. Just don't burn the custard in the process. YUK.
Good, Simple, healthy food. Found this is a recent issue of Guideposts. Looked good so I had to try it. Guess what? It is good and is now on my list as a comfort food. I imagine that there are as many recipes for Stuffed Cabbage as there are Cooks out there feeding people who relish Pleasant, satisfying meals.
Loving Hot Dogs as I do this came about through years of fooling around with various ingredients. I figured I had a winner when no matter the quantity I made up there was never any left overs. This recipe can be doubled, tripled, or times 10. Church Summer gatherings, Ball Games or whatever. This is very straight forward and easy to prepare.
