    I can't remember where I got this recipe Maybe it was from a magazine, but it's a really good carrot cake. The frosting is especially delicious. Prep time includes the time to frost the cake.

    This recipe is from a local cookbook, "Friends of the Market". I've found a lot of good recipes in it. I haven't tried this one yet. The cookbook is a collection of recipes from customers of the Mauldin Open Air Market. The author says that many people will not eat collards because they are bitter, but when fixed this way they are not bitter. Collard greens are a traditional dish to serve on New Year's Day, along with black-eyed peas and hog jowls.

    This is Rachael Ray's take on the American classic. It's from one of her earlier cookbooks. Rachael serves this over canned biscuits (like GRANDS!) that have been separated, placed on a baking sheet and sprinkled with a pinch of cayenne pepper or sweet paprika, then baked according to package directions. I tried to include this in the recipe but for some reason the site will not let me list the canned biscuits.

    This is an interesting recipe that I found in a cookbook called "BBQ Nation" from Fred Thompson. You marinate the chicken, grill it and then steam the chicken. Patton says if he has any Bbq rub on hand, he will toss some into the marinade as well. This recipe sounded delicious so I'm posting it here for safekeeping. Cooking and prep time does not include marinating or steaming times. I have estimated the time to grill the chicken, it will depend on what pieces you use and their size.

    I found this recipe in Fannie Flagg's Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe Cookbook. I've made it many times and it is delicious. The original recipe called for 1 Tbsp. salt but the last time I made it that was too much so I changed it to 2 may want to adjust the amount lower and taste it before adding more.
