This salad is a wonderful side for curries or as a regular side dish

    Recipe #397595

This recipe was featured in a magazine spread about the Canadian designer Sarah Richardson, it is apparently one of her favorite drinks to serve. We made it for New Years last night and it will not be the last time this drink runs accross our flutes

    Recipe #406227

Recipe created for the British Pub Crawl Challenge (ZWT8) by Team Bistro Babes. Other flavoured vodka such as marshmellow would work great in this drink too

Are you having a Portuguese dinner themed night - try this Portonic! Measurements are pretty simple, just 2 to 1 white port and tonic

    Recipe #371713

This Irish coffee is a bit different as it has hazelnut liqueur in the mix

    Recipe #423933

    A quick and healthy breakfast

    Recipe #409972

You could serve this as a 1st course for company; it is not your usual mayo/tuna salad. The addition of fresh mushrooms and green peas really does the trick. I usually make a lighter version where I will strain the whey out of some plain yoghurt in a sieve and use 1/3 strained yoghurt and 2/3 mayo. If using this method the yogurt must be drained really well. I add the peas when they are still frozen; they thaw quickly and I like them cold in the salad and they do not get mushy

This sauce is used for pot stickers / dumplings - see also my Recipe #397487

    Recipe #397489

My kids love smoothies for breakfast and we are coming up with a few different varieties. This one is our latest creation. You can't really taste the apple - but the main thing for me is that it is there in form of nutrition. Smoothies can be a a wonderful wholesome breakfast with lots of vitamins, calcium and fiber. I always add ground flax seed for the omega benefit, it has no flavour and can be used in all foods. I usually do not measure ingrediients in smoothies and you should add milk according to your own preferences for thickness.

    Recipe #412641

Swiss breakfast or really is eaten as a snack any time of day in Switzerland. The recipe is from the Atlantis Hotel in Zurich and noted on Graham Tinsley's website - he trained at the hotel. The recipe contains fresh fruit, berries and nuts which are laced with whipping cream. All the ingredients are left to stand overnight to allow the ingredients to release their flavours. The whipping cream can be substituted by natural yogurt. Caster sugar is very fine sugar - you can either whirl granulated sugar in a food processor or just add granulated sugar if you don't mind a bit of sugar crunch. I am not sure exactly how many this serves since the recipe did not list servings.

    Recipe #457494

Easy and not so guilt-ridden recipe.

    Recipe #360495

This is a pretty simple recipe with few ingredients but has great flavour. I whipped it up one night when I felt we needed some sort of sauce but did not want to search for a recipe

    Recipe #486960

This Guacamole is quite amazing; easy, yummy and with no additional fat other than the avocado. No need to spend a lot of time chopping the ingredients as the blender will do the job anyway. The key is to add salt and lime juice 'to taste'; a bit more salt makes all the difference to bring out the avocado's flavour. Regular onion will work instead of red onion. It's best to use rubber gloves when working with hot peppers.

    Recipe #314831

My daughters (8 and 6 years) have been experimenting with different smoothies and this is their favorite 'potion'. Any fruit can be used in place of the strawberries. The flaxseed meal adds a nice crunch and is also a great substitute for fish in the daily diet as it carries same benefits. It is tasteless and can be added to many different kinds of foods (cereal, yoghurt, smoothies, meat sauces etc)

    Recipe #318783

The mixture is served chilled. Raita has a cooling effect on the palate that makes it a good choice along with spicy foods such as currys. Raita is also eaten with kebabs.

    Recipe #397633

This recipe comes from the LCBO. It is a creamy but light low fat dressing perfect for potato or chicken salads, it is also great spooned over grilled lamb chops. The curry paste cannot be substituted for curry powder

    Recipe #441321

This is the real thing! I am from the land of meat, potatoes and gravy (Denmark) and my mom used to make this ALL THE TIME. So much so that when I was a teenager I swore that I would NEVER make this EVER. Now - of course - I truly cherish it on special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. The food in Denmark has since my childhood lightened up quite a bit and much more varied now.

    Recipe #439141

This is another great recipe from 'Salsa Cooking'. It is a wonderful nibble or appetizer or first course; if using as a first course you should calculate 3 pieces per person. It is served with Recipe #390915

    Recipe #391130

Healthy low fat dip that goes well with vegetables

    Recipe #368926
