This is a slow cooker recipe for oatmeal that I found in a magazine in the dentist office. I tried it and it was very good but what I liked best about it was the barley which is very high in fiber. I cut the recipe in half which is plenty for one or two people. The recipe mentioned to add honey and milk to your taste. It also said to line the slow cooker but I didn't and it did stick to the sides but otherwise it came out fine. I used a small crock pot.
This is an easy and delicious recipe that I found in Shape Magazine. It's a filling dish that I whip up for a main dish but it can also be made as a side. This was Shape's vegetarian recipe of the month.
I got this recipe from the August 2008 issue of Good Housekeeping Magazine. It's an easy, nice light version of key lime pie and I made it for my husband who loves this dessert. He truly enjoyed this version. I used a store bought reduced fat graham cracker crust just for convenience. Also, I used regular fat sweetened condensed milk because that is what I had on hand.
My sister served this side dish at a family function and it has been a favorite at gatherings ever since. It's a red cabbage slaw-type salad with the tang of blue cheese and crunch of almonds combined with a red wine vinaigrette, perfect for parties or just dinner at home.
