THIS IS SO DELICIOUS! One of my top recipes of all time! An easy-to-make appetizer or first course. The flavors will intensify when marinated overnight. Serve in a large bowl lined with lettuce and kale for a fancy look. This is the best shrimp ever. It has become a staple for all "impress the guests" meals. It's easy! This shrimp is a perfect appetizer. I got this from a really fabulous book called Above & Beyond Parsley presented by the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri.

    Recipe #345106

From Mark Bittman's PBS show, "The Best Recipes In The World". Fusion food YUM! Anyway, this is a fancy, fun, very man-friendly dish. It's a little different but hey, for the adventurous it's awesome. Here's what Bittman had to say: "Who better to spread the gospel of pork than David Chang of New York's Momofuku? He adds pork to almost every one of his vegetarian-unfriendly dishes, because, as he'll tell you, it just makes things taste better. This dish is an enormously successful example of fusion cuisine—essentially, pork katsu with a Southern twist. David's redeye gravy, however, is not made like the kind you'd find in Southern diners. Instead of combining country-ham drippings with hot coffee, he makes what amounts to a mayonnaise spiked with instant granules." Prep and cook time is 45 minutes; enjoyment lasts forever.

    Recipe #336968

I love Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. I was watching the Northwest episode and the Gypsy dining group came up with a fabulous dessert that engulfed all of the senses. Seeing as how I am in no way going to do this dessert justice, I just wanted to quote what Gypsy described it as: "The second dessert was a lime cheesecake mousse set over the top of an “aural” crust. Strawberry pop rocks were implanted into the graham cracker crust for a surprising aural firework display with every bite. The dish was accompanied by strawberry sorbet over a salad of black pepper and strawberries, a strawberry sauce, and a fresh grating of lime zest." I have researched the lime mousse techniques and i have just run out of patience on how to keep the rocks from popping before the cake is consumed. So it's basically, no bake, low heat, keep it cool. I cannot come close to coming up with the black pepper and strawberries concoction so i am going to make my cop out, easy version. It might not be completely gourmet, but it is still poppin'. **I plan on revisiting this to make a diet friendly version.

    Recipe #308418

This is my version of a passed down family recipe that was voted best grilled chicken in Houston. I also used a little brining help from a great blog, Culinary Disasters. I am an amateur griller so Cooks illustrated helped me with the grilling techniques. For one of my first bbq chicken feasts, I did pretty well. My family LOVES it! For a newbie cook like me, I really enjoyed impressing everyone with crispy golden skin, juicy meat, and a lot of layers of flavor.
