Tomatoes add a bit of color, and onions and white wine add extra flavor to this delicious side dish. Try it with my Baked Salmon with Creole Mustard Sauce, also posted on this site. From Bon Appetit, February, 1994.

    Recipe #304725

From Bon Appetit's February, 1994 issue...I have made this recipe SO many times and always with good results. One of my all-time favorites. I am not normally a fan of salmon due to the "fishy" taste...but this recipe changed my mind. The sauce is awesome--a friend asked if he could take the leftover sauce home and just eat it with a spoon by itself! Nice dish for entertaining but really simple if you just want to spoil your loved ones. :-) This was on a menu in Bon Appetit with a Potato, Tomato and Onion Gratin that I am also posting, which is equally as good. Enjoy!

    Recipe #304723

This is so quick and easy but the flavors are outstanding. You can put this salad together in a snap...the combination of the greens, fresh strawberries, feta and walnuts is great paired with the strawberry-balsamic vinaigrette. Adapted from a Bon Appetit recipe submitted by Judy Wilkins.

    Recipe #304352

Layers of almond-scented phyllo cut into irregular triangles are filled with a mascarpone cheese mixture that is topped with port and balsamic marinated strawberries. This builds 8 individual dessert "towers" and goes together in a snap but is beautiful...and simple, not too rich. The flavors of Italy. :-) Just a beautiful, tasty summer dessert. From "Phyllo: Easy Recipes for Sweet and Savory Treats" by Jill O'Connor.

    Recipe #303664

A great appetizer/canape for cocktail hour...for you olive and cheese lovers out there! These are real simple (I am all about simple!!!) but very savory and go great with cocktails...or girls' night in...etc. etc. etc.

    Recipe #303653

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Jacques Torres is the pastry chef at a famous NY restaurant. Not your everyday chocolate chip cookie...more special. From cookiemadness.net.

    Recipe #303415

This recipe came from Bon Appetit many years ago. It's my Dad's all time favorite.

    Recipe #303289

This is the result of trial and error...with many white chili recipes. Great comfort food on a cold winter day.

    Recipe #303226

A friend gave me this recipe after I had these wonderful potatoes at her house. It came from Roger Kaplan, Corporate Chef of the Peasant Group, a popular restaurant chain in Atlanta.

    Recipe #303146

A former home ec teacher gave me this recipe about 20 years ago. It rocks! No more needs to be said...

    Recipe #303145

This unbelievably rich tasting risotto has an intense, almost meaty flavor, but its fat allotment has been kept to a minimum. From "The Occasional Vegetarian" by Karen Lee. Serves 2 to 3 as a main course, 4 as a first course.

    Recipe #302862

This ragout can be served on polenta or as a topping for pasta or a baked potato. From "The Occasional Vegetarian" by Karen Lee

    Recipe #302858

Great for a summer barbeque or pot luck. The black bean salad is also great on its own, without the shrimp. From "True Grits" cookbook by the Atlanta Junior League. Note that cooking time does not include time to grill shrimp (about 6 minutes).

    Recipe #302838

This is a fantastic combination of red and sweet potatoes, layered and baked. A great accompaniment to ham, beef, turkey or salmon. Not too rich...just right! From "True Grits" cookbook, by the Junior League of Atlanta

    Recipe #302836

From Melanie Barnard, author of "Short and Sweet"...found this recipe in The Best American Recipes 2000". These make a cookie like shortbread and the contrast of the savory rosemary with the shortbread is incredible. A friend went nuts over these the first time I made them and then spent an entire weekend baking a huge batch for Christmas treats for her friends and family. This is a love/hate thing - if you love rosemary and shortbread, these are a MUST try...but not for you if you are fussy about adding anything to your shortbread...These are probably a bit sophisticated for a kid's palate...but your women friends will LOVE them.

    Recipe #302818

This recipe is from The Silver Palate Cookbook by Julee Rosso and Sheila Lukins. These are incredible...have eaten these at Julee Rosso's wonderful Wickwood Inn B&B in Saugatuk, MI, where the food alone is worth a stay in the charming inn. These are always on our cookie tray at the holidays.

    Recipe #302805

There are several recipes out there for Coca Cola cake, but none exactly like this one...Just a small piece of this rich and chocolaty cake will satisfy any sweet tooth! It is VERY rich, but also very moist. A must for choc-a-holics! I clipped this recipe from the Clearwater Sun newspaper about 30 years ago and it has become a family favorite.

    Recipe #302790

Adapted from a recipe my Mom sent me many years ago...it originally contained sliced cantaloupe or honeydew melon but I prefer the salad without the melon. Up to you...if you do add it, it called for one melon, sliced in chunks. No changes needed to the recipe if you add the melon or alter to add your favorite fresh fruits. This makes a large amount, so use a big bowl. Keeps well, covered in the refrigerator. Great on a buffet table for a summer brunch, BBQ or a baby shower.

    Recipe #302543

from the book, "At Blanchard's Table"...Blanchard's is a fantastic restaurant on the island of Anguilla and it was there that I first had this wonderful gazpacho. It was so good, I purchased their cookbook so I could recreate it at home. So fresh and flavorful! I like to serve it with a dollop of sour cream...yum.

    Recipe #301766

This is the real deal...lots of spices in the sauce, which is typically served over spaghetti and topped with cheddar cheese and/or onions. Great for football fare, cold winter days or just hungry appetites! Don't remember where this recipe originated...it may be yet another that is a combination of several I tried over the years.
