This is my fall back dessert. My Mum brought the recipe back from Canada when she and Dad lived there before I was born. I don't make this very often as it is quite rich, but, oh so yummy. I also usually make 2 as it freezes so well without the topping. And then I put a seasonal fruit topping of my choice when it has defrosted. Sometimes I use digestive biscuits for the base, and sometimes chocolate chip or even ginger biscuits. You can ring the changes, it's all good.

    Recipe #308417

I saw this on BBC's Saturday kitchen and decided I wanted to try it. So I have posted it here to keep it safe! Pomegranates are the new super food and therefore quite popular and easy to buy.

    Recipe #280178

I stumbled across this recipe yesterday whilst looking for something quick and easy. I did not have any lemons in store except for bottled juice, so I made the alternative and used the beautiful navel oranges that are available instead. It was superb. It is a Rachel Allen recipe which is always good to follow. I halved the recipe and still found it very sweet so next time I will decrease the amount of sugar. I have described the recipe as I found it, adjust the sugar to your taste. I don't like very sweet things.

Since my DH does not eat tomatoes I am always on the lookout for a different take on a midweek meal. I usually have meatballs prepared in the freezer so that I can take out how many we need and vary the sauces each time. This is one of my childrens favourite. However, this is the meatballs and sauce from the beginning. Enjoy.

    Recipe #253124

I foudn this recipe yesterday and made it stright away. I am posting it so that I don't lose the recipe as it can be made last minute. I used the end of the challa, instead of brioche. Use whatever you have handy. I think next time I might pop it under te grill for that crispy topping you don't get in the microwave.

    Recipe #225427

A deep green fresh tasting soup. Does not need flour for thickening so is low carb and is absolutely delish. Everything is from the freezer or storecupboard and so it can be made in a few minutes. From Evelyn Roses International Cookbook

    Recipe #146503

I saw this demonstrated by Rachel Allen on TV yesterday - tried it and adored it. Had to share the recipe and to keep it somewhere safe. Serve it in little glasses to look pretty with cookies or berries. You can replace some of the cream with mild to make it a little lighter.

    Recipe #139828

I am posting this recipe so that I do not lose it. It is very easy to prepare and very tasty. This recipe is a base that you can add all sorts of dried fruits and nuts to or just leave as it is. You can substitute the meats for any other you fancy.

    Recipe #134903

I had never tried fried radishes before I found this site - Mr Breakfast - and I will certainly be using them more often. They become very mellow and, to me, a nicer sustitute for poataoes than the faux-potatoes recipes I have tried. First time I grated the radishes and omitted the onion and sauteed for only about 3 mins. Delish!

    Recipe #134377

This is a low carb breakfast that doesn't include eggs. It makes a delicious change. Taken from another website - Mr Breakfast.

    Recipe #133912

Saw this on TV and wanted somewhere to keep it until I tried it. Serve with basmati rice

    Recipe #129990

Saw this on Great Food Live and thought it loked good. I then had a version in Switzerland which confirmed how fabulous it really is. Use this as a guide and make your own variation of it.

    Recipe #129989

Cooked pastry shell, then pour ganache over cherries, put into oven and turn off oven.

    Recipe #125944

I like to cut down on sugar these days and this combination still works for me. Its a great change from the ubiquitous lemon curd at Peasach. Great with added whipped cream on sponge cakes or meringues

    Recipe #117872

A sublime rich tasting creamy chocolate sorbet which is dairy free. I had it in a very expensive restaurant in Spain where it was served with a very intensively vanilla ice cream and it was to die for. In fact the whole meal was to die for - and we nearly did when the bill arrived!8
