On Facebook one day, this recipe came up on my feed. The original recipe called for honey and applesauce but I wanted to create a banana bread with no "added" sugar so I did some research and came up with this version. I also altered the flour from Whole Wheat Flour to an equal split of multigrain and all purpose.
I am a big fan of the Good Housekeeping Soup Diet and I've enjoyed it just as it is for awhile now. Recently I came across a new recipe in Woman's World magazine which is loaded with Antioxidants and it inspired me to combine the two recipes with a tweak or two here and there. I have posted this recipe in metric measurements as I have found that weights convert better than cups when it comes to vegetables and canned items.
I love the sauce from this recipe and I have used it on Pork ribs and chicken and it is finger licking good. I use apricot preserve instead of plum as I wasn't able to find plum the first time I went shopping :)
This recipe was given to me by my Mother-in-law over 20 years ago and it's the only one that I'll ever use. It has always been a great success, well...almost...one time I left out the baking soda. That loaf made a great brick.
This recipe comes from "Pillsbury's Creative Cooking In Minutes" which was published in 1971 and has been in my family since that time.
I have been making these chicken wings for 25+ years and my family prefers these over any others that I have tried. This recipe only feeds 2-3 so be sure to double or triple up as necessary.
