This is my favourite cake recipe and is so easy. Other sponge cakes seem to fall flat or feel heavy but if you follow this recipe you'll get the best sponge ever.
This recipe came from a New Zealand Your home & garden from way back in March 2004, I've been making it ever since but thought it might be about time I put it on the net in case I ever lost my copy.
This recipe came about when we were having a bbq and I decided I really wanted satay sauce on my steak. Not having any on hand or time to make a real one I mixed up the following and was pleasantly surprised. Measurements were just (roughly) what I used for a bbq for two but you could make this as big as you want, tweek for taste. Best of all, this is a no cook recipe, just stir and serve.
I saw this on the "good morning" show by Adam.
It looked so delicious I had to try it immediately, I wasn't disappointed and neither will you be.
I think this is easily a year round meal, easily enjoyed on the deck in the sun or cozied up next to the fire in the depths of winter.
