    This is an incredibly simple recipe for "Buttermilk" Southern style biscuits, minus the dairy and cholesterol! I adapted this recipe from a traditional biscuit recipe and these take only a few minutes to make and use incredibly simple ingredients. Eat them with butter and preserves, or even vegan gravy! P.S. - I've made these for non-vegans and they didn't even know that these were vegan.

    I was looking for classically delicious vegan oatmeal cookie recipe, that was lower in fat and sugar--I stumbled upon one that needed a lot of tweaking and this is what it has become.     Having lived with a breakfast man for three years, I can't believe I forgot my favorite sweet morning treat(aside from vegan donuts): French Toast! So, I decided to give it an honest vegan try and I ended up adapting a recipe submitted by Chef Smileyfroggy. It has the traditional Frenchie sweetness, that is also counteracted by the subtle sourness of the "soybuttermilk".

    This is my favorite vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe to date and it's the most simple too! Consistency is soft on the inside, with a bit of a crisp to the outside and one should be sure to not let them overcook! The cookie dough gets even better if it's allowed to chill, or if the cookie dough is only used partially and the rest is then stored in refrigerator or freezer.

    This recipe was made for my friend Gina, who has a gluten and lactose free diet. As a long time vegan/vegetarian, I feel for people with dietary restrictions(I don't feel restricted really--just more creative), so I conjured up this recipe for her birthday cupcakes! I highly recommend making a Valrhona chocolate "buttercream", to compliment this recipe--it adds that magical chocolately goodness that we all look for in a righteously yummy dessert(okay, maybe I'll finally make a recipe for my valhrona "buttercream"). Also, you will find this recipe is gum free, as there are many documented allergies to these gums--and they're also expensive. Happy baking!

    I'd really say this is a lemon loaf, but it is more cakey, than it is bread-y--that's for sure! The brown sugar in this recipe gives it a richer, more buttery taste and all of my non-vegan friends were shocked that this didn't have a drop of dairy in it. This is an adapted and doubled recipe from a Moosewood recipe and although it's not amazingly healthy, it is so yummy that it's silly...!
