This comes from my Great Grandmother. The food Ingredients come from the days of rationing during WW1. And all the ingredients are already in most pantries. It's very simple so She would make this for us every time we visited her. It was my favorite thing to eat when I was a kid. It's very rich so a little goes a long way.
I still make this just for my birthday.
This one comes from a fast food restaurant that I used to work for when I was a teen. I just didn't like some of the ingredients they used and so I substituted my own. This was the first dish I ever ate raw onions in, I used to hate onions but this recipe changed my cooking world
I got this recipe while living in Alaska from a real life Mountain man I met at a bar one night after the entire bar was boosting that his Salmon dip was the best they ever tasted. It's the best I've ever had and it works well with Imitation crab too!
This is my Husbands mothers Recipe. She used to make this for his birthday every year. It takes a long time to make but is well worth the effort. But I do understand why she only made this once a year. If you have the time and want to hear the praises then take the extra effort and try this Recipe. but be warned it is an all day project.
And it does freeze well.
