I grew up with this spaghetti recipe.
It becomes chili when you add the chili beans
My daycare kids loved it with or without the chili beans
***** I just served over cooked macaroni ( not as messy for kids), could use spaghetti
posted for safe keeping and so that my family can look at my recipes across country easily.
I do not measure these ingredients
I use deli sliced roast beef ( you could use leftover roast for this recipe too) , onion thinly sliced, BBQ sauce till the meat has a thin layer of sauce and cheese ( either Swiss slices or shredded mozarella ) to my liking.
I added measurements to be able to post this recipe.
I first made this with leftover turkey from thanksgiving. From my Quick Cooking Cookbook
We really enjoyed this dish for a quick lunch
- I omitted the mushrooms and added a handful of peas and carrots instead - till it looked like it had enough vegetables for our liking
We always serve these over mashed potatoes and have dinner rolls with the noodles.
My Grandmother is 82 and still makes homemade noodles for a big crowd. My recipe is a little different then hers that I added a couple more seasonings to the pot.
the cooking and prep time may be off a little
This is a recipe from a old cookbook - When I lived in Omaha my coworkers and I would order food from King Fong's about once a week.
Enjoy --- I have made this substituting other vegetables then the ones they have in their recipe.
