    This is absolutely "THE BEST" frosting in the world... It's an old fashioned recipe that my gram used for years on all her homemade cakes including Wacky, Spice, and her Raisin Cakes. It has been a favorite of my family for over 50 years, and will be passed down to my grandaughter(s), when and if I have some :) I lost this recipe at one point and was frantic, but found it again rummaging through my cookbooks... I was SO HAPPY!!! Try this one and see why... Enjoy!

    My friend Dawn sent me this recipe to try, and I did... It's like a pumpkiny custard on the bottom and crumb topping on top, and loaded with nuts. It's just plain WONDERFUL! Great anytime, but also for the holidays, and a lot easier and quicker than making a pie :D I made this for the Cake-A-Thon to honor Chef-I-Am October 2007.     I made this pie in my home economics class, in high school back in 1969. It was one of the first desserts I ever tried making. Everyone was very impressed with the results especially my teacher :) I got an A! I have been making this pie for years...     This is delicious on a cold winter or fall day! If thickened, this is great in a bread bowl. I love mine with oyster crackers on top, and a BIG dill or sour pickle on the side! You can add 2 cans cream style corn too, as I did in the pictures I posted for another delicious chowder variation! If you cook ahead and give chowder a chance to sit in the fridge, the flavors will meld and it is even more AWESOME the 2nd day! I often use Fat Free Half And Half in place of the whole milk, and its great too. NOTE: This chowder makes lots of delicious thin milky, buttery broth, which is traditional in New England style chowders. If you make changes to the amounts of milk, butter, etc. it will not taste as rich and delicious, and changes the recipe.

    OMG.. These are like heaven in your mouth! Talk about great taste sensations... I made these for one of my cooking and recipe events that I hold monthly, and these were a HUGE hit... A must try for sure! You can use low fat cream cheese to make these lighter if you like. You can also dip the ends with any kind of finely chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, sprinkles, or dip the ends in chocolate or drizzle with chocolate. You might even try adding some cocoa powder to the cream cheese and make it a chocolate filling. The sky is the limit here, just use your imagination!
