I made this recipe up because while I like Hamburger Helper, I just don't think it's all that healthy.
This is my British paternal grandmother's recipe (the English love their casseroles!), passed down to my mom. It's my favorite cold-day recipe! Serve with a green salad and crusty bread, or rolls, cresents, etc. Enjoy.
Such an easy, basic soup. I usually do it in the crockpot.. you can add meat or pasta or whatever veggies you like.
I haven't tried this yet, but I am going to make it for my boyfriend for his birthday tomorrow. It's from the Better Homes & Gardens "New Dieters Cook Book".
