    My parents always baked squash like this & after 50+ years, it's still my favorite!!! Usually, it was a huge Hubbard that my Dad would use an ax or hatchet on in order to split it into several chunks. I prefer Butternut Squash, but you can use Buttercup or Acorn, if desired. This is for ONE squash & IMO it doesn't come any better or easier than this. Cooking time is the same for as many squash that you're baking at one time.

    I LUV bbq, but there are times when the weather here in WI doesn't want to co-operate & I can't grill or bbq outdoors. I came up with this on one of those "uncooperative" days. Turned out pretty good!!! Hope you try & like it, too!!! PLEEZ choose chops that have some fat on them...rib chops, preferred. I'll argue this with anyone, cuz fat adds flavor & helps keep the meat moist. NOTE: Cooking time does NOT include marinade time

    BBQ Ribs are my passion!!! I've tried several different rib recipes & I have an earlier Rib recipe posted on Zaar, but this even beats that one!!! First of all, DO NOT BOIL RIBS!!! takes away the flavor & is just plain WRONG!!! Second, they shouldn't "fall-off-the-bone"...they should be tender, but sort of "SNAP-OFF" the bone!!! Third, everyone has their own favorite "rub" & "sauce"...give Recipe #410170 and/or Recipe #268574 or use whatever works best for YOU!!! I prefer my ribs smoked, but that's me. These ribs are good either way!!! You can mop them with sauce is desired, but I prefer not to. PLEASE READ DIRECTIONS COMPLETELY.

    I absolutely LOVE rhubarb!!! When I was a kid, I'd pick it fresh, wet it down & then stick it into the sugar canister, when my Mom wasn't looking...YUMMMMM!!!!! This easy-to-make wonderful tasting sauce can be used as a topping for ice cream, pancakes or whatever else your little heart desires...I can eat it all by itself!!!

    This is one of my favorites. It's easy to make & tastes SOOOOOOO good!!! Use an 80/20 or 85/15 ground beef for best flavor. Feel free to add any other veggies, but this is the way we like it!!!

    If you have never experienced an outdoor Door County Fish Boil, you have NO idea what you're missing!!! Door County is the WI penisula, north of Green Bay. It's a VERY popular tourist destination & a fish boil is an absolute must before you leave!!! Several restaurants, along with periodic civic groups, in the county serve it using delicious fresh fish from the waters of Lake Superior or Lake Michigan & it usually consists of Whitefish or Lake Trout. Many folks that don't like fish, LOVE the Door County Fish Boils. This recipe is for making it on the indoor stove instead of an outdoor fire...MUCH safer this way. NOTES:You will need a large kettle with a cover & a wire-type basket for this. FRESH fish is preferred, but frozen fish that has been thawed, can be used. If using Whitefish, be sure all scales are removed.

    Ribeye is my favorite!!! This technique sounds strange to most folks, but the results are amazing! It seals in the juices & flavor. Use REAL natural wood charcoal when doing this...avoid the briquettes. IF you pre-season your steak, do it just before you throw it on. A good steak doesn't need to be highly seasoned or marinaded. Choose a steak with some nice marbling...marbling means flavor & tenderness!

    If there's anything that I'm fussy about eating, it's pancakes!!! The biggest mistake people make when making pancake batter is want the batter as lumpy as possible! Any old time cook will testify to THAT!!! I used to be night manager at a small town Mom & Pop cafe in the early 70's. The owner was a cranky old Norwegian that taught me many things about cafe cooking & this pancake recipe was one of them! The cafe has since been long gone & so is Andy & I miss both of them dearly! I've made these for so many years, I just throw it together, so I hope I got everything "write"! LOL!!! EVERYONE that's had these pancakes, especially our nine Grandkids, LOVE 'em!!! This makes a huge batch, but you can cut it in half if need be.
