    Recipe #472014

Martha Stewart offers this information: "Pink peppercorns are not actually true peppercorns but the berries from the Baies rose plant". I always wondered why they were so mild compared to other peppercorns. Enjoy!

Cumin and chili powder give this fresh dish a kick! Pork tenderloin is my favourite cut of pork and it's highlighted by the delicious base of greens, corn and other veggies. This is from a local grocery store's magazine. Enjoy!

    Recipe #471993

This one dish meal has it all - sweet, salty, crunchy and smooth. This recipe definitely has a Vietnamese influence and is just so tasty. From a local grocery store's magazine, please try to use low sodium ingredients. Enjoy!

I have never had Turkish food (that I know of) and this sounds simple but really good. The original recipe stated that you can use crusty bread or "berber bread". I googled berber bread and came up with nothing! This recipe is from a Canadian cheese magazine. Enjoy!

Mmmm... mozzarella! Try this grilled cheese sandwich with the Italian twist! If you haven't tried it before, pesto is one of the best condiments to use on a hot sandwich. Instead of cooking the sandwiches in a skillet, you can use your panini press just as easily. This recipe is from a Canadian cheese magazine. Enjoy!

Meaty portobello mushrooms make great "crusts" for individual pizzas. Jarred bruschetta makes an easy topping, but experiment with whatever you like on your pizza. This recipe doubles or triples easily. Enjoy!

This is a healthier version of the French Canadian dish, poutine. While this recipe contains cream, it is much lower in fat than traditional poutine. This gravy also goes well with beef, chicken or pasta. When we had this, we found that the amount of potatoes just wasn't enough so you may want to increase the amount. This delicious recipe is from Alberta Health Services. Enjoy!

The barley adds a nice touch to this chili and allows you to stretch your beef farther. It absorbs flavours and adds a nutty chewiness while adding fibre. Try to use products with low or no salt. This healthy recipe is from Alberta Health Services. Enjoy!

Another recipe from Aylmer's, a Canadian company. I notice that a lot of American canned tomatoes are 14 ounces - that works just fine for this. These stuffed peppers are terrific with the orzo and feta! Enjoy!

    Recipe #471962

This is a recipe from Aylmer's, a Canadian company. It uses their canned tomatoes but you can substitute with whatever brand is available to you. Serve this delicious chicken with a salad or cooked vegetables. Enjoy!

There's nothing like a nice bowl of stew on a cold night. This is an easy dish to toss in the crock pot and come home later to the great smell of this comfort dish. Try this with Recipe #351297. This will need to cook for 6 to 8 hours. Enjoy!

This dip gives a real kick to your wings, tortilla chips, chicken nuggets or other snack foods. You can use French's or Frank's Red Hot sauces. Enjoy!

Tonight my Dad made an amazing Prime Rib Roast for New Year's Dinner. I wanted to make something to have with it! The whole family seemed to really like it and enjoyed the roast with these onions and some great horseradish. Although this dish takes time to cook, its very easy! It makes a large batch of onions so if you are going to make a smaller amount, you have to use your intuition as to the cooking time of the dish. Enjoy!

I was making appetizers for a work Christmas party and the idea that I had conjured up in my head was just NOT working! I looked around the kitchen and saw a loaf of bread. I needed something as a base for a couple of toppings that I wanted to use so this is what I came up with! No one could tell that they were bread shapes and they were very well received. Enjoy!

This simple comfort food dish is great on a cold night. If you don't want to bake this, just read the note at the bottom of the instructions. Also, if you are not baking it, take 20 minutes off of the cooking time. Enjoy!
