From Two Peas in a Bucket NSBR board. User lucyg819. Her original post reads: "If you only need single crusts, here is my grandma's super quick and easy no-roll crust recipe" Melt one stick of butter in microwave. Stir in one tbsp sugar, one tbsp vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Then stir in one cup of flour until well blended. Pat into pie pan and up the sides. Ta-dah! Nice, shortbread-y pie crust, done in five minutes.

Created after a trip to Dellalo Italian Market in Greensburg, PA. I came home with a pound of whole wheat pasta, a bunch of broccolini and a pound of their fresh made feta cheese. Recipe #420111

Uses a potato ricer or food mill. This is the way that a German lady I worked for back in the 80's taught me to make them for her. She used evaporated milk, I'm using cream for the Holiday Version. This is COMPLETELY decadent, and should be reserved for holiday use only :)

Leeks (some call them "ramps" ) grow wild here in the foothills of the Alleghenies. I adpated this from a recipe that I found online. The ingredient list below says "ramps" because Recipezaar kept changing it from "wild leeks" to "leek" which is a completely different vegetable.

    Recipe #419711

Vegetables by weight so it doesn't matter what size your potatoes are or what kind of carrots you are trying to use up. I tend to make this when I come home from the store with a bag of baby carrots, and find two more already in the fridge! Uses vegetarian brown gravy mix.
