Creamy and rich and hearty and easy! For those of us with BIG families and who do NOT have easy access to fresh clams, here's the answer. Served with some home-made French bread croutons and sprinkled with grated Cheddar cheese. Do NOT boil the soup after adding the clams--this contributes to Rubber Clam Eraser Syndrome!!! Ewwwww!!!!

Very pretty presentation! Loaded with salty green olives in a savory cheesy bread, this really hits the spot along-side a thick soup on a cold winter's evening. Try it with Potato & Ham Soup OR Clam Chowder. Enjoy the colors when you cut the slices!

Winter supper at its best! Comfort food with a tantalizing sauce & lovely meatballs. Get the kids in on the act, rolling meatballs is fun and gooshy (okay, everyone, "Wash your hands first!"). Thanks to Taste of Home's Quick Cooking 2000 year book for their inspiration.

Gather the children when you pull these out of the oven--lots of oohs & aahs at the puffy cakes! My mother-in-law featured these on her restaurant breakfast menu, and usually makes them at least once when we're visiting. Serve with Honey Butter (below) or some warm fruit compote.

Great recipe to take in an insulated carrier to potlucks! A nice change from plain apple crisp, and it goes together quickly, too. The original recipe (BHG) called for two fresh mangoes, I used frozen chunks instead (less work!).

With all the tortilla soup recipes here on 'Zaar, there must be SOME leftovers. So here's what you do with the leftover soup. No more LEFTOVERS--they're "planned overs." Use the soup as the base for this tasty Mexican casserole.

This was dinner the night I went into labor with my first son; every year since we've had this for his birthday celebration! Served with spinach salad, it makes a well-rounded meal!

If you need a "date" for Valentine's Day or to feel "rich"...then this is the recipe for you! Whooeee! Pureed dates lend such a richness and depth to this dessert, while the rum gives it a "grown-up" kick!

Our raspberry patch and our bees get the credit for this one! Perfect on your English muffins, scones, toast and to use as a glaze for chicken, pork or ham. Vary the spices and you'll have a whole different "essence." Let me know your favorites, please...we're doing a market survey and will be selling this to our poultry customers this summer. Thanks!

After dinner with Mom at Fazoli's, I altered a recipe from Taste of Home's "Country Chicken" cookbook, and this is the amazingly excellent result. Great for dinner parties and delicious for a week-night supper with the family all around the table!

The kids told me this was definitely a "keeper" of a recipe. The hard-boiled egg really adds some depth to the flavor. Add your own flavorites to accommodate your family's tastebuds.

Re-use your old heart-shaped Valentine boxes, and fill with some of these tasty treats. Your Valentine will thank you! And this is SO easy with the microwave, you have NO excuse!

As soon as these cookies come out of the oven, pour a glass of ice-cold milk, and give yourself permission to eat a couple. The anti-oxidants in the double dose of chocolate will be good for you! If you leave these in the oven too long--no problem, call them "Crispy Choco Chocolate Chip Cookies." No one will complain!

Loaded with cheese, sauce, meats, and pasta--probably on Heaven's menu, too! Great way to use that ground venison burger.

These are the ultimate Gingersnap cookie, thanks to the lemon juice. Snappy and sweety and chewy--all in one little cookie. Rolled in sugar, cracked top, loaded with flavor. Take 'em to the fair--you'll win a BLUE RIBBON!--cuz they turn out perfectly EVERY time!

This is JUST the drink for those winter-time holidays (Advent, caroling parties, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's Day). Pleasantly flavored and easy to adjust to your special tastes!

Light, flakey dough surrounds the brown sugar-cinnamon-butter filling (with optional raisins or nuts); two perfect pans of exquisite breakfast fare. Serve with some pork links, glass of juice or milk, and you've got a down-home breakfast. My German gramma made these EVERY time our family visited...and she cooked 'em in her wood-burning cook-stove, too. Our 4-H club makes these for a concession stand fund-raiser and we sell-out EVERY year! Don't be put-off by the LENGTHY set of directions---they're written for the uninitiated (non-bread-makers) among us. I really WANT you to have fun making these, so I told you EVERYTHING you'll EVER want to know in how-to-make sweet rolls.

The original recipe came from a set of photo-recipe cards and was called "Eggs Lorraine," which just HAPPENS to be my mom's name! We fell in love with 'em, and when I made them for my folks, I ended up giving them a set of ramekins so they could make 'em at home, too! COOL THING: pop 'em in the oven, then get dressed for the day. By the time you're ready, so are the eggies! NOTE: This recipe is for ONE serving, just repeat for each additional portion.

The plain version was a staple during my dad's Depression-years childhood; but we rarely had it when I was growing up. My children expect this at least once a month as a regular feature on our Saturday morning breakfast menu OR when we have breakfast-for-supper. Prepare the optional sausage and hard-boiled eggs ahead of time, and it goes together quicker-n-anything!

Toss a few things in a bowl and jazz up a simple supper. When I brought this to the table, my kids said, "What? A gourmet meal?" It's so easy to please some people!
