I remember my dad making this for fried fresh Atlantic shrimp that we all went and caught ourselves! Wonderful for all types of tempura cooking. REMEMBER to add beer a little at a time (it won't take a whole beer!) and you must chill to let set.
DO NOT POUR ALL LIQUID IN AT ONCE!! A LITTLE AT A TIME. AND ALLOW CHILL TIME TO "SET" BATTER.
I love Outback's Alice Springs Chicken and Applebee's Smoothered Chicken, so I sorta created my own version of it. You can use fat-free dressing with this and there is NO difference in the taste (just less fat!) and you can use canned mushrooms when fresh aren't on hand. Also if in a tight bind, you can use can/jarred bacon bits (the real ones not Bacos) instead of the actual bacon slices. I prefer applewood smoked bacon cooked fresh.
I love this for busy days when I have the extra time in the morning to set things up or I may even start the process the night before then refrigerate till the morning and throw in the crock pot. I almost always double everything except the chops for LOTS-O-GRAVY!!!!MMMMM
A great one-pot meal when shrimp are running and ample. Having a outside gathering--this is the recipe to use! For a great cocktail sauce that fits your taste buds and cheaper than store bought try recipe #73837!
this is my dad's recipe that he made every christmas along side our prime rib dinner. I enjoy these so much that I often double or triple the recipe and once I stuff the potatoes I place them on a cookie sheet and freeze them then place in air tight bags and freeze them for later use!
