    It's so simple & easy for the life of me I don't know why our local restaurants can't get it right, the key is the Ribeye and the Cheez Whiz, if you veer off that course it won't taste right. In answer to Alan's review I beg to differ! I just watched a show that followed the making of these great sandwiches at both Pat's & Geno's and guess what?! The Provolone was added after the fact because of customer requests, not the Authentic cheese!!! Pat invented the sandwich and uses Cheez Whiz -- not slamming Alan but I got it from the source so do try the sandwich, you'll absolutely LOVE it! I use butter because that adds a depth of flavor you don't get with the olive oil. Use what you like!

    I threw this together and wow'd the boyfriend who's only complaint was that I didn't cook enough of it so I've upped the recipe to make sure you'll have enough!     I was looking to make something easy with the lovely bag of new potatoes my honeybunny brought home and came up with this. His only comment? "Honey, you should have made more!"     I have made beer can chicken for just about EVER and I swear by it, crispy skin, delicious incredibly moist meat... You've just gotta try it. I have taken from a recipe here & a recipe there & put this together and it is by FAR the BEST beer can chicken I've EVER had!!! I hope you'll think so too. It is a bit spicy the way I make it but you can cut the chili pepper if you don't like that much heat. The smoked paprika adds a lovely smokey flavor I just love... The beer bubbles up & over and bastes the chicken while it cooks giving it an incredible flavor. You'll want to pick up some mesquite smoker chips (from the bar-b-que aisle) - soak 2 or 3 handfulls for 1/2 hour & place in the bottom of a broiler pan, water & all. Of course it will come out smokier if you cook this on a grill which is preferable but in a pinch the oven will steam @ 400 degrees. This would be awesome for company but you'll need more than one chicken, there's never anything left but bones when I make this recipe.

    I made this for Mom last week when she was sick & she loved it, since she hadn't been eating that was a small victory in itself, she polished off an entire bowl which is unusual for her. I usually change things up when I cook and this time I added some kale and it turned out wonderfully! I was originally going to just grab a rotisserie chicken but they didn't have any so I improvised & I think it came out better for it. Do try this version of an old classic for some seriously healthy comfort food!

    After trying Fried Green Tomatoes in several restaurants I finally broke down & threw this together to see if I could do better & voila! Best I've ever had so do try this & be sure to get ripe green tomatoes (or striped heirlooms) from your local farmer's market. That's the only way to enjoy them. Some places will cheat & use regualr tomatoes that aren't ripe (so they're still green) and the flavor is just awful. You really have to have ripe green ones to do it justice... My favorite is Giant German Green & I used to grow them at home but the squirrels & rabbits have done my garden in so I have to make the trip to Tom's Farms. Well worth it! Hope you enjoy! Oh, hey, if you like add a few drops hot sauce to the egg, try without first. If you have any bacon fat the flavor is worth it to add a bit of that to butter & oil.

    I found the original recipe on this site submitted by Cindy Hartlin & changed it so much I just decided to re-do it with the new additions as I can never remember what I do to recipes unless I write it down. On a whim I threw some grated parmesan romano on top too, it added a slightly nutty flavor & was quite delicious... Hope you like it, we sure do!

    This is so easy & so darned good. I just made a batch for my Mom who is under the weather, she really liked it - I omitted the onion for her as she can't tolerate it & she actually had a whole bowl when the day before all she could eat was a half a pear & a cup of tea... I love this stuff & usually eat it for a week after I make a batch. It's that good... Be sure to get the bone-in short ribs as the bones add to the flavor.

Recipezaar wouldn't allow Red Silk beans as an ingredient so I listed as beans with the description & distributor information after that. You can probably find them online or in the ethnic foods. Or just stop by World's Best Pizza in Escondido. Mike sells them for $3.99 Well, of course I couldn't leave it alone, I had to make some changes while I cooked so here is the updated recipe!

    I've adapted this from several recipes and think it is just wonderful. I absolutely love duck and make it now & then for a special treat... You can usually find one at Albertson's. Most places around here only cary them around Christmas which is an absolute crime... If you think duck is too greasy I think this recipe will change your mind. The simple fix is to use a roasting rack! All the 'grease' drips off as it cooks... The result is so tender and flavorful, I hope you'll try!
