Transform an ordinary cake mix into something special. A reviewer suggested cooking this at 350 degrees or 10 min longer, however I have never had any problems.

I agree with the test kitchen that the croutons would be best on top intstead of the bottom or used to sop up the great juices on the bottom. I think this would be great with halibut chunks or additional fish added to it. Or as someone suggested 3 Italian sausages cut up.
As there’s no gluten to develop, kneading isn’t necessary for this bread. It has air pockets, a crisp crust and an earthy, warm taste. We loved it.

Just as good with apples just make sure you slice them thin - a mandolin works great to get uniform slices. I also think they would be great with peaches or asian pears.

I originally got this recipe from American Profile. I have adjusted it some and play with the ingredients adding fruit when possible. I also subbed caramel sauce for the maple syrup to make is super caramelly!
