From March 1999 Bon Appetit. Delicious when served with pot roast or beef stew. Very easy to prepare.

    Recipe #395367

This recipe came from my Aunt Betty (yes, I had an aunt named Betty; yes, she made Apple Crisp; yes, I was reluctant to title the recipe 'Apple Brown Betty' or Aunt Betty's Apple Crisp for fear people wouldn't believe me). This recipe is similar to recipe #140088 but with enough differences to make it unique.

The basis for this recipe is a recipe in the July 2005 issue of Sunset Magazine. I've modified the dressing to use bottled dressing to make it even simpler. Great for picnics and potlucks. ***Great presentation when layered unmixed in a large glass bowl.*** Can be made vegetarian depending on dressing.

This is a great recipe from the July 2005 issue of Sunset Magazine. Can substitute 1 tbs of minced garlic for 2 cloves fresh garlic. Soak wooden skewers 2-3 hours prior to grilling (soaking time not included in preparation time listed in recipe).
