this dip never lasts for long! this can be made the day before but make sure you take out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving to let the beans soften. Serve with thick tortilla chips for less breakage.
even though there are alot of ingredients this one dish meal cooks up pretty quick. if you're like me and love you some stuffed sopapillas, while this dish is simmering fry up a couple and stuff them with this!! yummmm!!!
i got this recipe from my aunt who makes them every year for christmas. her instructions say to bake til light brown but I haven't made these cookies yet so i dont know how long that takes. i would probably let them cook for 8 minutes and then check every 2 minutes or so.
i first had this when i went to albuquerque to visit family 15 years ago...wow is this good!! after several attempts to recreate & falling short i've finally perfected it...at least in my mind but i haven't had the real stuff in over 8 years :( this recipe is so tasty and worth the time it takes to put together...try it out!
such a fun way to cook a chicken its almost comical, not to mention it comes out so moist & tender. i found a beer can holder at target for 10 bucks which is well worth it since the fluid inside the beer can will start to boil & can easily knock your bird over...trust me, i speak from experience.
trying to use brown rice more and had some leftover bbq chicken from when i made 2 Recipe #297657...this is what i came up with. modelled after my original arroz con pollo recipe except much easier! you dont have to use the exact same chicken parts that i used, just enough for 6 people...a store bought rotisserie chicken would work great! i have found that this is the best way to cook brown rice so its not mushy like oatmeal..thanks again PanNan!!
my boyfriend introduced me to this recipe, its the way his mom always makes her mashed potatoes for the holidays. don't be afraid of the carrots, they give great color & flavor & you wont need as much butter or cream cuz they also give a natural sweetness.
i decided to make spinach salads for dinner and found out that my bf of 4 years doesnt like raw spinach....how could i not know that by now?? so anyways, lol, i ended up adding some pasta and serving my spinach salad hot...my bf was really impressed since it was thrown together on a whim and tasted great! now that i'm writing the recipe down i think it would also be really good with some sliced black olives thrown in but you decide that!
this might seem like alot of steps for a basic chicken dish, but this comes out so tasty & its really alot easier than it may seem!! after 10 minutes pop it into the oven & you have a half hour to clean up or just kick back & relax til serving time. i usually serve this dish with my spicey mashed potatoes & baked asparagus...yummy!!
Here's a quick family favorite the way my grandma always made it!! The secret is in the nacho cheese sauce. She always used the plain nacho cheese soup, so if you cant find the Fiesta style don't worry about it. She'd also use this real fat spaghetti type of noodle but i'm not sure what they're called. Sometimes I'll add a can of chili con carne topped with some pickled jalepenos for a super fast one bowl meal! So yummy!
