There's a great new cafe in town with a hippy-chic owner/chef from California. My mom loves everything they serve and set out to duplicate the delicious guacamole. It has only a few ingredients...no tomato, cumin, taco dip mix... and it is SO good. Don't let simplicity scare you!!!
Our local Publix supermarket was giving out samples of this today with recipe cards. Oh my gosh...this is fantastic. Lots of yummy ingredients and not too eggy! Very fresh tasting. This will definately be on my Easter brunch. Hope you enjoy!
I have made complicated marinades in the past but shrimp are so delicious they need nothing more than this treatment. Subtle flavors and the shrimp stay juicy. Alter as needed for the amount of shrimp you have.
The best comfort food of all time. Be careful, you might just lick your plate!! I first had this in the hospital after my first son was born and spent months looking for the recipe. It is nothing like the tuna casserole I got as a kid! The red bell pepper and Ritz are vital so please don't substitute.
Funny how a certain scent can just send you reeling. Remember the smell of sausage cooking at a fair? I remember this scent walking in Gatlinberg, TN during vacations. There is a little place called Fannie Farkles who always has it on the grill...enticing me. And now I've stolen their name...will probably be in copyright prison by the time you read this.
Something new to try. I used a combination of recipes for this one and it tastes very much like the pancit I enjoyed from the many Filipino friends I made while my hubby was in the Navy. It looks like more work than it actually is...try it and have some fun.
