This is a really tasty way of using up leftovers to make a healthy and hearty salad. This was first published in the August 2005 issue of BBC Good Food Magazine.

    Recipe #276668

I went to Makros (similar to Costco) today and got a huge box of chicken breasts. I was putting them into freezer bag by pairs for future meals (there are only two of us) and I had one 'odd' breast left over. So, I made these open face sandwiches for lunch. It could serve one person for lunch or two for a snack.

    Recipe #276639

I first had this served to me a few years back when Jamie Oliver was just becoming known in the UK. I didn't think it would be good but I found it really tasty and very refreshing. Now I love serving it up to people that haven't tried it. It is best to serve this as soon as possible because it tastes its best when it is fresh and not sitting around.

    Recipe #276553

I made these for New Year's Eve this year and they went down pretty well. I had some of the French onion spread left. I served it on the side for people that wanted to dip the pinwheels. The cooking time includes the time chilling the spread before assembling the dish.

    Recipe #275542

I served these at New Years because I had left over turkey and cranberry sauce from Christmas that I wanted to use up. They turned out to be nice and sweet. Cooking time doesn't include the chilling time.

    Recipe #275457

Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Grandma Strohecker. As with so many of these recipes, she didn't specify serving yield. So, I am guessing a bit. I have had a version of this so many times growing up and it is *so* good.

    Recipe #275336

Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Florence Miller who is my Nana's sister and always called 'Aunt Puss' by myself. I look the most like her than of any of the other Muir family members I have met.

    Recipe #275334

It is the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve and I have very little in the house. So, I have to be creative with things I have in the cupboard. This is what I came up with tonight. It could very easily be made a lot lower in fat by using reduced fat hot dogs and cheese. I used whole wheat pasta which is also another easy way to sneak in a it of extra nutrients.

    Recipe #275277

Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by my late Grandfather and my two older male cousins. I remember them cooking this one summer when Nana taught all of the cousins how to 'cook' and we made our own family cookbook. Daisy refers to Daisy Duck and I think the recipe came from a magazine. The page the recipe came from is framed on my Nana's kitchen wall.

This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by my Uncle John who really is a rather good cook. It is in the 'Men Only and Junior Cooks' section of the church cookbook.

This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Loleda Shutt. It was one of five Sho-Fly pie recipes in the book. The real question for Sho-Fly pie lovers is - wet or dry?
