This broccoli slaw gets its sweetens from a combination of pineapple and brown sugar while getting it warm balance from the Oelek Chili Paste. I put a flex amount of mayonnaise as my family does not like there slaw over dressed and others may prefer a creamer slaw.
A variety of mushrooms makes this a great side for steaks or even as a snack atop of French bread. Using a food processer to slice the mushrooms makes this come together very quickly. Do not salt before cooking as the salt pulls the moisture out of the mushrooms.
This sounds like a wonderful tropical version of classic chicken burrito. I found this at Real MOM Kitchen posted by Laura. This recipe makes a lot and has freezing tips for OMC. As we are currently in the middle of playing spring PAC have not gotten a chance to make so the times are estimates.
These tasty carrot bites are nice to keep in the refrigerator for when you want a quick bite of something sweet, or need a little pick-me-up between meals or after a workout. Found this recipe on a blog called Daily Bites http://www.dailybitesblog.com/2010/04/15/carrot-cake-bites/. These little bites can be stored in the refrigerator for 5 days.
This is a light and fluffy lemon pie that I came up with one day when cleaning out the cupboards. It is not gourmet but is a great family pie that can be quickly made when you get home from work, and is ready to eat by the time dinner is done. The best part is it contains less calories and fat than many other cream pies. **Cook time is really the chill time.**
Our family loves oven roasted vegetables and one day DH ask if I could make fries for lunch, not having any potatoes in the house I cut a celery root into fries, seasoned and roast. We really enjoy these even if they are not a true French fry.
A pound cake that pairs well with coffee or tea and is a slightly tweaked version of a pound cake recipe that came with my Cuisinart. This pound cake is unique in that it calls for pine nuts, olive oil and corn meal.
Roasting brings out the full robust flavor of the vegetables and the gruyere brings a slight nutty flavor and creaminess making it nice complement that does not over shadow the vegetables. I serve this two different ways and have posted both.
My DH who is not fond of horseradish and discovered he really likes horseradish mustard leading to my trying it in all kinds of new ways. Horseradish mustard, mustard seed and rosemary make a delightful coating for these easy roasted potatoes.
