This is a cool coffee drink that is brewed by allowing it to stand at room temperature for 12 hours and thus not heating up your house on an already hot day. *We prefer dark roast for the fuller flavor but you could use regular roast.

The intro on this states "Traditionally enjoyed by Latino children, this dish makes a refreshing summer snack with a surprising combination of flavors that any adventurous eater can enjoy!" When I saw it post on allrecipes.com was reminded of a delicious watermelon jalapeno gazpacho I had tried once years ago and though I just had to bring over here.

This is another quick, cool and healthy summer treat that is low fat and dairy free. I like to break my over ripe bananas into chucks before freezing them so that they are ready to go when making banana bread or ice cream. The prep time will depend on your food processer, mine only takes about 2 - 4 minutes, bananas should be frozen sold (like overnight).

A delightful cool treat that is healthier than regular ice cream but still has a creamy rich flavor. I like to break my over ripe bananas into chucks before freezing them so that they are ready to go when making banana bread or ice cream. The prep time will depend on your food processer, mine only takes about 2 - 4 minutes, bananas should be frozen sold (like over night).

A brownie “crust” and peanut butter top! That is Gluten Free, Vegan and No bake :) This comes from the Minimalist Baker

    Recipe #502614

I do not have an ice cream maker and am always watching my fat intake and weight so when I found this on Pinterest post from a blog called Crazy for Crust I knew I had to bring it over for safe keeping. The cook time is really the freeze time.

A very easy homemade Thai sauce that is sweet with a nice little bit of heat. This sauce is great for dipping and cooking both. While not what we call hot you can cut the red pepper flakes in half or omit the Sriracha to cut the heat. This recipe comes from Life Tastes Like Food.

    Recipe #502164

Mixed berries topped with a delightful rich crumble of nuts and dates. This is great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but recently took this to a pot luck were it was a hit even without the ice cream on the side. The original recipe is from Whole Foods Market.

    Recipe #501365

What happens when a cheese cake recipe merges with an ice cream pie recipe? You end up one extremely rich and sinful dessert. The only down fall is it is a bit labor intensive but Oh sooo worth it. The curst is based on ratherbeswimmin's Recipe #140555 **chill time not included**

    Recipe #500898

Received a jar of fig jam and was browsing the web when I came across this California Walnut recipe. These chocolate cookies with toasted walnuts and filled with a sweet fig jam sound like they would be a tasty way to use my jam gift. There were no times posted so the times are estimates. Chill time not included and is 3 to 4 hours.

    Recipe #500478

As a lover of both Carnitas and Tamale Pie thought this looked and sounded yummy when I saw it on Pinterest. The recipe comes from a blog called pinch of yum.

A few years ago flavored vinegars where everywhere and now they are almost imposable to fine. Have not tried using other fruits yet but am hoping to try using figs as fig vinegar is great in marinades. Found this on a blog called A Family Feast.

    Recipe #498251

This recipe is slightly different than the other sweet potato burger with roasted garlic recipe found on this site. This particular recipe comes from a blog called How sweet it is.

A Japanese style meal that is tasty and economical, consisting of chicken that marinates while it cooks, BBQ black eyed peas with no BBQ required and a warm Japanese style slaw that has just a tiny bit of tang. Please do not let the list of ingredients scare you off as they are mostly pantry staples. The number of steps looks like there is a lot of work involved but once the chicken and beans are cooking you will have time to wipe down the kitchen or even write a recipe as the slaw does not get made till just 10 minutes before the chicken is done.**Do Not overcook slaw as it should be crispy tender**

    Recipe #495347

Who knew left over sweet potato and millet could come together to make a wonderful breakfast cake when topped with maple syrup and toasted pecans. Found this on All About Fasting for health and healing when looking for a way to used up some of the odds and ends in the refrigerator. **Note: Since the whole wheat flour in this recipe doesn't get soaked as grains should, one could use masa harina or sprouted spelt flour for better nutrition and digestibility.

    Recipe #495055

Well happy 2013! The success of this recipe depends on how good the tamales are that you use. This a quick and easy hash as it uses leftover Black-Eyed Pea Salsa (Cowboy Caviar) and leftover tamales.
