I found this cocktail recipe searching for a drink to serve with an Asian meal. It uses just a dash of fish sauce, and also pomelo juice, which is used often in Vietnamese cooking. Pomelos are like large grapefruits, but slightly sweeter.

    Recipe #438204

This is my adaptation of a Cooking Light recipe that follows my approach to healthy eating to a "T". Meat is too delicious for me to become a vegetarian but I am trying to eat way more vegetables than meat. This recipe delivers on that and tastes fantastic. I bet you'll never miss the additional meat! Note: when I made it I doubled the recipe (makes great leftovers) and used 1 can of vegetarian baked beans (for a nice sweetness, this was the can I mashed) and 1 can of kidney beans, which I left whole. I love making my own burger buns with my bread machine and this recipe is so easy and the results taste terrific: "Recipe #169916".

    Recipe #425115

Pick flavor-packed apples, such as Fujis, Braeburns, or Granny Smiths, to complement the Brie in these attractive packets. Serve as a first course or as an accompaniment to a lunch salad. Don't be afraid to try making crepes, they are so good. I've included detailed instructions to get perfect results! Note: prep time includes making the crepes.

    Recipe #373345

Delicious and especially good with served warm with vanilla ice cream. Try as an alternative to apple pie! You can substitute your favorite liquor for the Amaretto and to enhance the flavor drizzle a little liquor over the strudel and ice cream before serving.

    Recipe #426059

From my local paper they say, "The resinous floral flavor of lavender is lightened by sweet apples in these muffins. Fresh or dry lavender flowers can be used interchangeably since their flavor and volume are nearly the same. Look for dried lavender in the bulk herb section of your grocer or natural foods store." Sounds too good to pass up...

    Recipe #263830

Tafelspitz is boiled beef in broth, Viennese style and is a typical Austrian dish. The beef is simmered along with root vegetables and spices in the broth. It is usually served with roasted slices of potato and a mix of minced apples and horseradish or sour cream mixed with horseradish. Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria, was a great lover of Tafelspitz. According to the 1912 official cookery textbook used in domestic science schools of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, "His Majesty's private table is never without a fine piece of boiled beef, which is one of his favorite dishes." Tafelspitz is considered to be the national dish of Austria.

These are wonderful tasting muffins. They are prefect for brunch or breakfast on the go.

    Recipe #285539

Swiss cuisine is based around dairy foods and this recipe makes excellent use of Gruyere cheese. This casserole is easy to prepare, especially if you purchase diced ham from your supermarket, it is great for brunch or a light dinner. Gruyère is a type of Swiss cheese. Its sweet nuttiness enhances this dish, though you can substitute Edam, Gouda, or even cheddar cheese. Note that it needs to be chilled 8 hours or overnight.

    Recipe #455832

Delicious chunky cookies that are easy to make and disappear in a snap! My long-time friend Barb brought them to our New Year's Eve party and they were the hands-down favorite of a huge buffet table. Cook's note: The pretzels should be about the size of the chocolate chips, not pulverized. You want to taste bits of pretzel as you munch. This is a crunchy cookie. I use a food processor and just pulse until the desired size is achieved.

    Recipe #275652

Serve with corn on the cob and potato salad. Mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and green, yellow or red pepper pieces could also be added to each skewer.
