I've been making this for years ........ it looks quite impressive in recycled salad dressing, vinegar, oil or pickle jars and makes a great hostess gift! This must be made at least 4 weeks before consuming.

    Recipe #146260

You can whisk this up very quickly for an after-dinner treat or give as a gift!

    Recipe #146259

Festive red colour & fabulous flavour thats perfect for the holiday season Serve to your guests or give as a gift! The cook time quoted is actually the standing time.

    Recipe #146258

As a young bride, I didn't have a clue what to do with a turkey or even a whole chicken. I made many mistakes (I even left the gizzards in the body cavity) but I've come a long way since then! When posting this recipe, I'm including the basics for preparation of the bird, my recipe for pan gravy, a simple cooking timetable and carving instructions. Since my family isn't fussy about stuffing, I do a smaller amount to fill the neck cavity only. I hope this will help new brides ....... and seasoned pros!

    Recipe #146101

I got this recipe several months ago from my fiend Linda ... who got it from her sister ... who got it from (get the picture?); I made it for the first time last night! I recommend this recipe for anyone who is a non-hot & spicy wing lover ..... like my hubby & grandkids!

    Recipe #145571

Ham is a traditional part of Holiday dinners in my home; it requires virtually no preparation before roasting. There are many kinds of ham available – the traditional bone-in found whole (or halved & sold as the larger butt or rump end), boneless (whole or halved) & spiral-cut hams which is my favourite. I make it with the red currant glaze & serve it with a cranberry-orange sauce at Christmas but prefer the brown sugar glaze & fresh pineapple salsa at Easter. I freeze the meaty ham bone for split pea or bean soup another day!

    Recipe #144986

This recipe from the December 2000 issue of Canadian Living was served in the posh dining cars of the Royal Canadian Pacific! It is definitely dinner party fare but also good enough for your family!

    Recipe #144169

Another favourite from Ted Reader, King of the Q!

    Recipe #144103

A Jamaican-based crowd pleaser! Most ingredients should be available in the beverage section of your market. Add fruit, if desired!

    Recipe #142250

I haven't tried this recipe yet - I'm saving it here for the day a hunter friend brings me some "wild" meat - or I splurge by purchasing some farm-raised game at Black Angus. This recipe is a favourite of Ted Reader "King of the Q"! Timing doesn't include 2 hours to marinate.

    Recipe #141977

Did that name get your attention? These are actually stuffed jalapenos but different than other recipes on this site. The recipe by Fran Stephen was an award winner for appetizers that are great at the cottage - simple yet tasty! Prep time includes chilling.

    Recipe #141173

This recipe from Canadian Living magazine has been in my "recipes to try file" since Nov 2003. I finally did so last night & wish I had done so much sooner. Its so easy & the flavour combination is so good!

    Recipe #135758

This is a delicious savoury pie guaranteed to impress at a special breakfast or brunch! Its a favourite of Karen Brimacombe, one of the authors of the Best of Bridge series! Its too large a large pie for just the 2 of us - so I made half the recipe this morning in a Corning baking dish; it required 60 minutes of baking time. Editted to add comments: Since it would be easier to serve from a springform pan, I recently purchased a half-sized one from Dollarama!

    Recipe #135251

This is quick, easy & very kid friendly! You can use up leftover beef & save time by omitting the first 2 steps. Serve with sour cream, salsa and/or guacamole - or as is!

    Recipe #133317

A little spice, a little salsa, a lot of flavour and its also healthy! The recipe comes courtesy of Good Times magazine. Adjust the cajun seasoning to your own taste - if you don't have any, there are a number of good ones on Zaar!

    Recipe #131563

I just had to buy the June issue of Canadian Living so I could make the cover recipe! I made some changes to the biscuit portion - you could substitute with sponge or angel food cake, if you prefer. Standing time has not been included.

    Recipe #125096

Posted in response to a request - from Food & Drink magazine! Timing doesn't include standing.

    Recipe #122584

Posted in response to a request from Food & Drink magazine ..... with some modifications by me! Standing time has not been included.

    Recipe #122583

Creamy & delicious! Use on mixed salad greens, use as a dip or toss with warm potatoes for a quick salad.

    Recipe #117973

The rhubarb shoots emerging in my garden prompted me to post this recipe from Christine Cushing. I haven't tried it yet - but very soon! Christine suggests sprinkling crushed amaretti cookies between the layers.
