I called this "History Project Chicken Nuggets" because our 7th grader had needed shredded wheat for her project. She had used the shredded wheat for the roof of the project. On the back of the Kroger Brand Bite Size Shredded Wheat cereal box was this recipe. It looked good, easy, and something my family would really enjoy. There were no leftovers...Need I say more! Thank you, Kroger, for this family-friendly recipe!!!! YUM!!!
A wonderfully light, fluffy frosting that is sure to compliment any cake, from the pages of my Betty Crocker cookbook! Take a look at the variations too! (Prep time and cook time are guesstimates). for two 8-9" layers or one 13 x 9" cake
At one point, I always made homemade bread! This recipe, from the KitchenAid Recipe and Instruction book, was our favorite! When it comes out of the oven, you want to be sure to have a knife and butter handy! MMM...homemade bread...one of life's simple pleasures! (Prep time includes two hours for rising of dough)
At family gatherings, it wasn't complete without my aunt's macaroni salad made with this delicious dressing. It provides a yummy alternative to the mayo or vinegar based dressings. I've also used this on potato salad and was asked to make the potato salad version for a friend's wedding reception! (Cook time is an estimate)
I know there are many Peanut Butter Pie recipes already posted here; I looked over many of them! This one is a bit different in that it has a meringue topping and a filling that is made from scratch. It does take some time, but I think you'll be pleased with the results and so will your family and guests...Anytime I've made it, it's been a delicious hit! (Cook time is on the generous side and includes time to make homemade crust; cook time includes time to make filling;both are estimates)
Very good friends of our's made these at Christmastime and I finally asked for the recipe and tried making them myself. They are time-consuming, but oh, so good and worth the time and effort! Perhaps they'll become a holiday tradition in your home! (Prep time includes minimum chilling time)
This is a recipe from one of my daughters' favorite storybooks, "The Bunnies' Get Well Soup," by Joan Elizabeth Goodman. The recipe is submitted in response to a request. I think the most important part of this recipe is that is should be served with hugs!
This is an Indonesian dish that I actually had in the Caribbean. It's marinated meat on skewers and is delicious cooked on the grill! I always serve it with peanut sauce and rice...It's a family favorite! For a taste of the islands...give it a try! (Prep time includes marinating time for several hours or overnight)
I'm posting this recipe in response to a request, plus it looked like a very good mix to use in a variety of ways. Plus, making a batch of this could be great for gifts and/or items to sell at a craft fair or bazaar! (from the Make-a-Mix cookbook)
I put this casserole together with leftovers from a pot roast dinner and a few other ingredients. There was a severe thunderstorm in the area here in Denver, thus the name! My family gobbled it up and there were no leftovers in the 8"x8" baking dish I used! You don't need a thunderstorm to try this recipe! :)
