This soup is absolutely fantastic! It is a bit spicy, but that can be controlled with the amount of cayenne pepper that you choose to put in. My whole family loves this hearty, filling soup- it's one worth repeating!
I love blueberry pancakes, but I had to change up my normal recipe so that I could not feel guilty about eating them while on Weight Watchers. These are loaded with good-for-you stuff and TONS of blueberries. I love these things!
On a diet? Want a cookie? Make these! *Now here's my disclaimer. These aren't the cookies I'd make for myself if I wasn't on a diet. They're really yummy, but the texture is different from "normal" chocolate chip cookies. That being said, I love these little things especially since they don't wreck my diet!
I have a hard time finding sweets that satisfy me when I'm on Weight Watchers. This is a good, easy, and quick recipe that does the trick! The way I make this, it's 2 pts (It could be 3, depending on the brand of margarine you use).
I bet I have tried close to a hundred different variations of hamburgers. DH likes things pretty plain (as in only cheese and ketchup on his burger) so our patties have to have enough flavor to stand up (almost) on their own. I like that they've got good flavor but aren't too much to detract from the rest of the stuff on my burger (I happen to be the exact opposite of DH!).
I live in a house full of picky eaters. DH, DS, amd DD are all very picky- especially when it comes to vegetables. I do my best to hide veggies in whatever I can, and this soup helps me out big time. By using baby food in the noodles and pureeing some veggies (which is the optional step), you have an opportunity to give your family what's good for them without them even knowing. *NOTE: I choose to use baby food squash in the noodles. The color doesn't give away my secret :) This recipe feeds us two meals and then some!
Anyone who has children knows how much they love chicken nuggets. These are easy, tasty, and you don't have to feel guilty about feeding deep fried chicken to your kids! (Note: don't be afraid of the ranch, even if you don't like it. The flavor is not overpowering at all- as a matter of fact- you can barley even taste it. It just helps keep the chicken super moist)
My mom threw this together the last time I was at her house and I loved it. I didn't get her exact recipe, but I did my best to recreate it. This is a great, easy recipe for a fresh summer squash crop!
I sometimes use a large onion instead of a small one. The onion really soaks up a lot of flavor when it cooks and I absolutely love it. Of course, I really like onion a lot. If you like onions a lot, I recommend using more than called for.
I have used several different icing recipes on my cookies over the years and this is by far my favorite. I find that cookie glaze, while simple and easy, doesn't have enough flavor and is almost impossible to do any real decorating with. My 4-yr-old DS loves to help me decorate cookies and this frosting even stands up when piped on, just like you would decorate a cake.
This is different than your average breakfast casserole. It is so yummy and easy to put together. You can easily make this into a light dish by substituting egg beaters and light cheese. I've made it both ways and both are equally good! Also, if you cut the recipe in half, use 2 whole eggs and 1 egg white.
If you're a vegetarian, this is also good without bacon!
this recipe may look a little intimidating, but it's actually very easy! a nice twist on the same ol' french toast! this could be made with any berry/jam combination that you would like, but blackberries happen to be my favorite!
The Strawberry Kiwi Frozen Lemonade at Outback is my favorite drink. I found this recipe online and decided to post it here so I can keep up with it more easily. It is supposedly the original recipe from the restaurant.
We love carne guisada around our house. This is a really easy recipe!
FYI: I always go to my local meat market and have them cut a good looking rump roast into stew meat. It saves me the time of having to cube the meat myself and that way i get to pick out the best cut of meat. Also, if you like spicy, leave the seeds in one or two of the jalapenos. **UPDATE- I have recently improved this recipe to a point that I almost removed some of the original parts from what I had posted. Instead, I am adding options for the meat and cooking method. Please let me know which method you used if you rate this.
I loathe store bought taco seasoning. The flavor of it is so overpowering that you can hardly taste anything else on your taco! I found this recipe and adapted it a bit to suit my own tastes.
I'm posting it on here mostly to be able to find it whenever I want to make it again.
**NOTE: sometimes i substitute 1 tsp of store-bought taco seasoning in place of 1 tsp chili powder. you can't pick the flavor of the store-bought stuff out and it helps bring the flavors together a bit**
I whipped this up for a recent get-together I had with a bunch of ladies. It was such a hit that I decided it would be worth writing down (oro just putting on here) so I could keep up with it to make it again.
We served this with rice krispie treats, jumbo marshmallows, pretzels, pound cake, and fruit for dippers.
