I picked this recipe off a pasta box and served it as first course at a New Year party where it was very popular. It's very easy to prepare, but the simplicity is deceptive, it's delicious. The pasta in the original recipe was pizzoccheri, but I also used it with a bag of "normal" mixed short pasta. The hot pasta will melt the cheese.

    Recipe #445623

Sliced potatoes with bruschetta topping, a bit like a mini pizza with a potato base. Delicious as an appetizer.

    Recipe #439257

A spicy recipe based on a variety of beans. Somewhat Mexican in style. Note: 1 day preparation only if you need to soak dried beans overnight.

    Recipe #406032

This recipe adds the delightful aroma of aniseed to the humble potato pie with great results.

    Recipe #375331

This is a simple and easy method of cooking whole fish or fish sections, but not fish steaks or fillets. In my example I use sea bream (awrat) but it can also be used just about any similar fish including dorado, sea bass etc. One sea bream is more or less enough for one person. If cooking more than one fish, wrap each one individually.

    Recipe #344671

Very easy and quick to make and totally delicious. It's very popular in Malta, very similar to the oven-roasted variety, but without the oven.

    Recipe #344613

The national dish of Malta. Tasty, easy to make, ideal for picnics or days by the sea. The primary ingredients are bread, tomatoes, olive oil, salt and pepper. The other ingredients vary widely, although capers and olives are almost universally included. If using fresh tomatoes, make sure they are soft and juicy rather than firm to the touch. This simple dish is popular as a take-out meal but is also served as an appetizer in most restaurants, and as a bar snack in village pubs. In the latter cases the bread is often toasted, a bit like bruschetta. You can make anything from a single portion to a large-family size meal to a large event. Exclude tuna for a vegetarian/vegan version.

    Recipe #304334

A Swedish recipe, delicious and simple.

    Recipe #301110

This recipe is very simple to prepare yet delicious. It started off as a way to use up 1kg of mushrooms which were starting to go soft and ended up as a favourite dish. Think of it as shepherd's pie with mushrooms instead of meat.
