My family has made this forever. I haven't seen anything like it on here but it is old fashioned family goodness. Want something fancy? This isn't it. Want something that is comfort food in simplicity but mouth wateringly tasty? This is what my family goes for.
This is a state fair winner....I won't say which one. It's a bit different in construction so be sure to read and follow the directions as it states! This is an old German type of recipe and was brought to the US by my great, great, grandmother, Mary Heineman Paul.
Please note to ONLY use fresh, fully ripe peaches in this pie or it's not as good.
Rolled pizza then sliced, a great hors douvre! I always make it the day before for a party and slice it and serve it cold. If you try adding tomato sauce it only gets soggy but if made using italian sausage especially it's GREAT!
