I just saw this in a magazine and I can't remember which one! So before I forget the recipe as easily as I forgot the magazine, I thought I'd post it. Haven't tried it yet but it sounds yummy. It also sounds like it might pack a "wallop" if you drank too many! Let me know if you try it and what you think.
Found on a recipe card at the supermarket. An easy meal to put together, especially if you get the pre-shredded coleslaw mix at the supermarket. I've also used the pre-mixed blackened seasonings available instead of mixing the one included in the recipe.
Had this at a birthday party recently and, it was so delicious, I had to have the recipe. As the chef gave it to me, I quickly jotted it down on a pink paper napkin and have been guarding that napkin ever since. Thought I'd better post it online so it won't get misplaced. It is a bit different than the other Okra Salads posted here. As I haven't made it yet, prep and cook times are guesstimates and don't include cooling.
I found this on Epicurious and was impressed enough to want to post it here and share. This is really quite easy, has a ton of flavor and is impressive. I use the Soy Vay Teriyaki in a bottle which is in the condiment section of my supermarket. The Soy Vay brand is thick, rich and first class! Delicious with a grilled steak.
A not too far from traditional Chinese dish served in many restaurants near here. These make a great lunch or starter for a dinner party. Serving amount is an estimate for lunch portions. From the Kikkoman website. Cook time does not include chilling time. I usually serve these "warmish."
3 ingredients come together quickly, then just pop it in the oven and relax or prepare the rest of your meal! Tomatoes take the"slippery" out of the okra. This came from my favorite OklahoMAN's mom. I think it's one of those tasty "Everybody Cooks It" recipes from the mid-west.
I picked up this recipe in a bonus book from Taste of Home. Maxine Hearney posted the recipe and said it had been in her family for 75 years. It is really delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Guy, my husband, is from Oklahoma. I am a native Californian who never tasted Okra until we married. I introduced him to the finer points of Serrano chilies and, in return, he created this delicious soup recipe that combines both Okra and Serranos.
This is an adaptation from Quick Vegetarian Pleasures. Delicious served as a side to lamb but great with just about any meat. We love to serve this to company because, not only is it delectable, it makes your house smell mouth watering when they arrive!
Edited to add: I edited the recipe to use red potatoes as that is what I always use. It has never turned out gummy with reds. Sorry about the reviewers experience. Try it again; it is great!
A delicious cranberry relish that must be started a day in advance, but is quick and easy to assemble. This is a wonderful combination of textures and flavors sure to compliment roast turkey and a variety of other meats. If you like cranberries, you will love this. If you dislike cranberries, this may just win you over! Cook time includes sitting overnight.
