J. Gilligan’s Bar & Grill located in Arlington, Texas is believed to have invented the dish. It gets the “Irish” part of its name from the potatoes, which is something Ireland is famous for. And I love potatoes!!!
I love this recipe for Shepherd's Pie. Comfort food at it's best. You can change the amount or type veggies around to fit your taste, I sometimes add corn, peas or carrots. I adapted this recipe from allrecipes.com but made some changes. Enjoy!
I saw a similar version of these Blondies on Throwdown w/ Bobby Flay and Googled the recipe until I found the one that looked the closest to the one that was on the show. ( I usually give the link to the page but I cannot remember where I found it!) But this recipe ROCKS!!
Finally, I find the type of salsa we love at our favorite restaurant. I found it searching the web at http://greensboring.com. This is by far the best authentic salsa recipe I have came across!!!! If you love the salsa at your local mexican restaurant, then you will LOVE this recipe, enjoy!!!
I had to find a similiar recipe for a co-worker of mine who call's me Chef B (I am not a Chef but I do love to bake and make any kind of dessert). She stated she loved this Mocha Pecan cake that her friend makes her sometimes for her birthday, I hope this is the one she recalls.
My co-worker Gina makes this pasta salad and it is to die for!! I LOVE IT! You can not mess this recipe up, it is all "to taste" and fresh parsley and basil can be used instead of dried if you prefer. I double this recipe and I use mini bow tie pasta and 2 bottles of dressing.
My MIL loves Mark's Feed Store's Red potato salad. I tried several different recipes and she thinks this is the closest in flavor to the other's I tried. Maybe...maybe not, but we like it alot!! Update 6.2.10 thanks to everyone on http://www.recipelink.com/mf/14/33640 for trying the recipe as well.
We all have these ingredients in our pantry. I love the tast of professional icing not the store bought stuff, so I asked around and here is what a lady that's been making cakes for years uses. And it is so easy and really good!!
This was adapted form an episode of "America's Test Kitchen". I watched them make this cake and went right out and bought the stuff I didn't already have and made this cake. This was by the far the BEST lemon bundt cake I've ever made. The problem alot of times is when we make something with lemons it usually cooks out the flavor of the lemon by the end of the baking time. They tested several ways of making lemon bundt cakes and this recipe is it! The buttermilk is the secret to this great cake, and not to mention this is really easy to make. (*note: you will need 5-6 tablespoons of lemon juice total for this recipe.)
