One of the things my mum used to make when I was little and now I make it for my kids (and me too) It is really quick and easy and tastes great. I am not sure but I think that what kiwis (new zealanders) call rice bubbles (it's a breakfast cereal), Americans call rice crispies. So I think this may be a variation of rice crispie squares. There is no marshmallow in it.
From Jo Seagar.
If you like a smooth creamy luxurious fudge, not at all sugary or hard, and one that is easy to cut into portions without crumbling, then this is the one. Definitely not part of a daily diet. Make for special occasions only.
This has been a firm favourite of mine since I was a little girl.
This recipe is from a New Zealander ( "kiwi" ) so the measurements are not standard US ones. 500 grams is roughly a pound. 1 cup is 250ml. Garlic, Salt and Pepper are to taste. I make the meatballs about the size of a walnut.
